Uniform: Gambit's outer wear is quite simple in form and function. Beneath his brown trench coat he is adorned in a form fitting layer of black spandex. Halved, it is broken into two identifiable sections: Pants and a long sleeve shirt. The upper portion of his decor his mostly hidden beneath his coat and a fuchsia layer of armor that takes on the form fitting uniqueness of his black spandex and covers his chest and abdominal region. The long sleeved spandex flows past his wrists and acts as a sort of glove, covering his middle and ring fingers, but leaving his pinky, forefinger, and thumb unguarded.
Moving just above his chest, Gambit seems to have a collar covering the end of his armor and transitioning the hue once more to a darker side as his neck, sides of his face, and forehead are draped in dark cloth that seem to present no function beyond fashion.
For his lower half past his silver belt, he continues to trend of spandex (though a fuchsia intrusion of apparent 'armored' spots on his thighs , but bares it from few from his knees downward. From this point, he is adorned in knee-high boots of the a light-weight metallic hue.
Personality: Gambit’s persona tends to convey traits similar to that of an anti-hero, yet couples conscientious redeeming qualities and his Cajun style to form quite an interesting and perplexing - if not altogether outright confusing - fellow. Known to be a thief and having a knack of survival, Gambit is often one to take the road that will benefit him most in the short-term. This trait of his often causes Gambit to create points of stress and mistrust from those whom he has created a report with. That being said, Gambit does tend to have a moral code (that prevents needless killing or harm) when it comes to his reasoning /actions, albeit the logic that is construed can often be hard to follow. So, while he would pull off ‘jobs’ that is acquaintances could feel were heinous enough to vilify him, to Remy, the ends will almost certainly justify the means.
Remy is often an outspoken individual, stating his opinion on any matter-at-hand or making light of any situation in which he feels the serious tension has delved far too much into. He often accomplishes this by letting his Cajun swagger and accent intermingled with uninhibitated wit. Despite his best intentions, just like his flow of ‘logical thinking’, this too tends to create more trouble than it’s worth… For the individual participating in conversation with Gambit. He is also known to be quite the flirt and none too unfamiliar with women.
Despite his apparent vivid personality, in truth, Gambit is very guarded about his past and is very picky about whom he lets himself been seen as ‘sensitive’ around.
History: Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, this young nameless child whom would grow up to be one of the world’s most powerfully mutants was abducted from the hospital as an infant. The child who would be known as “Le Diable Blanc” was placed in the hands of Fagan’s Mob, where the young boy would grow and learn the ways of the thieves. At the age 10, whilst trying to pick-pocket a target, young Remy was caught by his quarry. Instead of handing him over to the police, his target, one Jean-Luc Lebeau took the young thief Remy into his home and into his family.
Later in his teens, unbeknownst to his adopted family member’s knowledge, the young man began to develop bio-kinetic charging powers. From either fear or some unknown element, Remy Lebeau kept this secret hidden and began training his ability away from the eyes of others. At the age of 15, Remy tagged along with his cousin Etienne Marceaux on his initiation test of the Thieves’ Guild, also known as ‘tithing’. However, the job went horribly wrong as the mutant they were suppose to steal from, Candra, had caught wind of this and captured them. Having recognized Remy from an encounter which involved time travel, she sold the duo to a mutant by the label, Pig. Despite this, Remy and Etienne were able to escape their cell and make a run for it. There actions did not go unabated as Pig had found out about their escape and perused them, only to have Remy draw up his future signature attack by charging a card Etienne had dropped and blinding one of the Pig’s eyes. Once more fleeing from the mutant, Remy and Etienne found themselves at a cliff and from there they dived into the water below. Remy would survive. Etienne would not. Later on in his years, Remy would be hired by Mr. Sinister, in the disguise of Dr. Nathaniel Essex, to steal stolen diaries back from the Weapon X program. Accepting, Remy entered the facility and witnessed Wolverine’s adamantium procedure and found his prize. Although he succeeded in his task, Remy destroyed the books… A feeling of unease had set itself within Remy and did not let trust of Dr. Essex manifest. Years later, Remy would marry Bella Donna Boudreaux, the granddaughter of the head Assassin of the Assassin’s Guild. Unfortunately, her brother Julien, disapproved of the marriage and he challenged Remy to a dual. He lost, thus causing Remy’s exile from New Orleans.
Exiled from New Orleans, Remy began the life of a wandering traveler/thief and had become quite skilled at the craft. During these travels, Gambit made quite a few friends, contacts, and of course, enemies. Also, the young lad found that he was harnessing an ungodly amount of energy in his body that threatened to destroy him. Feeling the hands of death embrace him, Gambit sought out Mr. Sinister and had him surgically remove a portion of his brain stem, thus lowering his abilities to a much more manageable state. Though, his would not come without a price. Sinister had plans for Gambit, having him carry out missions which included gathering mercenaries such as Sabretooth and forming a group named the Marauders. Their mission was to find the Murlock living in New York and wipe them out. However, feeling remorse and unable to stop the others from slaughtering a mass amount of the Murlocks, Gambit grabbed a child by the name of Sarah and fled… This child would grow to become the mutant known as Marrow.
After the events that would torture his psyche for years to come, he left to wander the world once more. In one of his travels, he met a young Storm whom had been stripped of her powers. Helping her escape from the Shadow King, Nanny, and the Orphan-Maker, they eventually made their way back to the X-Men after making a short-lived living stealing. Gambit was beneficial to the X-Men as he helped battle the Genoshans, though Wolverine was not quite convinced of Gambit’s trustworthy ways. This lead to a battle in the Danger Room in which Gambit had come out on top, but would not be the last between the duo. Further battles ensued in which Gambit helped the X-Men in their exploits. Eventually, when the 5 original X-Men rejoined the team, Gambit was put on the Blue Team under Cyclops leadership. At length, whilst on a mission, Gambit was attacked by his estranged wife, Bella Donna. With the X-Men at his side, Gambit encountered the second Ghost Rider, battled the Brood Queen, and had become witness to the apparent death of his then ex-wife. Later, Gambit had become interested in one of his teammates, Rouge, and began to flirt in a ‘devil may care’ debonair demeanor. Despite this outer appearance of a male chauvinistic, he really did have genuine feelings for her.
Regardless of how he tried to run from it, there was no escaping his past. Gambit was detained and brought before a tribunal lead by Erik the Red (Secretly Magneto). Rouge, being forced to do so, kissed Remy and began to absorb his darkest memories: The Marauders and the massacre of the Morlocks. This caused Rouge and the other X-Men to reject him and leave Gambit for dead in the frozen tundra. Left without any provisions and still reeling from the loss of Rouge, Gambit transversed forth and made it back to Magneto’s Citadel. It was here that he met a specter by the name of Mary Purcell, a dead mutant. She bonded herself with the Thief which allowed him to live and make it to the Savage Land, a jungle hidden from the Arctic weather. It was in this mystical realm that Gambit had met an individual by the name of New Son and with barter for transport back to America, Remy would agree to run errands for him. Whilst on these adventures, his prowess over his kinetic abilities would grow exponentially.
While on one of his missions for New Son, he had run into the X-Men once again. Having been courted with the idea of returning to the X-Men, Remy agreed for in order to obtain redemption and for Rouge. Not to be forgotten, New Son reveals himself to be a Gambit from an alternate verse and organized an assassination game in which Gambit is the target. After vanquishing the cadre after him, Remy burned out his enhanced powers in the final showdown, leaving him at his original state of being.
From this point on, Gambit is thrown into some rather odd and farfetched scenarios. First, Bishop having come from the future in an attempt to find out who killed the X-Men, finds Gambit and believes him to be the one whom had killed the X-Men in the future. However, the revelation is made later that it was actually Onslaught who was the traitor. A time later, Gambit is framed for the death of an Australian crime lord by the businessman Sebastian Shaw. With help from Rouge, Storm, Red Lotus ( a friend made that was a former member of the Triad), he is able to clear his name. Soon after, an alien invasion lead by Khan caused the X-Men to rise up once more and face the threat. However, a villain by the name of Vargas used his opportunity to kill off Storm’s team by going after Rouge and Gambit. In an attempt to save Gambit, Rouge threw herself in front of the blade, but was unsuccessful and both had become impaled on his sword. Luckily, both would survive, though at a loss of their mutant powers. In light of this, the two parted from the X-Men and attempted to sort out their relationship by living a normal life together.
Unfortunately, it did not last long as Sage located the duo and jump-started their powers back up. With their first mission back on the X-Men, Gambit unwittingly blew up an energized card in his face, temporarily causing blindness. Despite her best efforts to console him, Gambit lashed out verbally at her, causing her to take time away from him. While alone, he began to develop a tarot like ability and predicted the attack from the Brotherhood. Not far into the future, at a Christmas celebration, Rouge beset Sage to jump start Gambit’s powers once more, healing him. In spite of his, the mental backlash would not subside so easily, causing Gambit to question his relationship with Rouge and even becoming jealous of a self-manifested relationship between Wolverine and Rouge. It was later revealed that a being by the name of Golgotha had been causing the insecurities between the two. Noting this, Rouge and Gambit forgave one another.
Soon after, a new student by the name of Foxx joins the X-Men and is placed on Gambit’s team. Unknowingly, the new attendant is actually Mystique, Rouge’s foster mother, and attempted to create a rift between the two. Gambit, true to his love for Rouge, resists the charms of Foxx. Mystique, frustrated by Gambit’s inability to bend, reveals true self and continues her seduction… by transforming and offering herself as Rouge. Gambit has never confirmed or denied sleeping with Mystique, but after Rouge found out about her mother’s presence and Gambit’s knowledge of her there, it could not be helped that more animosity between the two grew.
With the return of Apocalypse, Gambit gave himself over to the Mutant and was transformed into the Horseman, Death. In truth, Gambit’s original intent was to pretend to be used and act as a double agent, however, the power of Apocalypse was too strong and had caused a massive change to his mind. Despite this, there was still some of Gambit’s psyche left and he was unable to kill Rouge in combat… Yet, as Apocalypse hold grew stronger over him, he sought to separate himself from his ‘Gambit’ persona by killing her off, only to be neutralized by Sunfire. After the defeat of Apocalypse, Sunfire and Gambit left to remove the brainwashing and live lives as new beings… Only to be propositioned by Mr. Sinister.
With the help of Mr. Sinister, Gambit returned back to his old self and had once more become a Marauder. Placed on a mission by Mr. Sinister, Gambit and Sunfire encounter Cable. The pair attacked Cable, forcing his hand and causing him to start the self-destruct module for the island. They returned empty handed to Mr. Sinister’s base to pull forward with their plans, but not before Remy lambasted Mystique for having shot Rouge when they abducted her… But was put at ease by Sinister’s assurance that she wouldn’t be harmed. After the invasion of the X-Men onto Mr. Sinister’s base and the subsequent loss, he remained by Mr. Sinister's side, waiting patiently as news reaches him of another storm brewing.

"Da game's Bourre, mes amis." The stranger spoke, eyes hidden behind thin slits of flesh as he sprang and cut the deck. The brown haired man's demeanor seemed to be one of a relaxed nature as he lent his body back against the wooden chair, one of many that circled the playing card table. The other patrons of the game watched on as their mysterious server continued his card tricks. All the while, a lithe smile laid plastered upon his lips. He seemed uninterested at the activity around him, the club's band playing in the background, the meandering of the guests looking at other tables and his own. The man seemed... focused.
"Pots $50, D'accord?" Words flowed effortlessly past the his lips, lacing his Cajun accent between the syllables to match his grin. The eyes of the dealer opened to reveal their unsightly nature, causing a few of the players to grimace at the sight of his red iris'. However, the young man didn't let it bother him as the cards in his hand began to be tossed toward each player in turn. By now, he was used to it.
"Say." One of the players spoke as he reached out for his card. "You got a name, Fella?"
"Meh?" The dealer spoke, casting his gaze in the inquisitors direction. "Sho' do, but fo' you, mon ami... You can call me Gambit."
