--Madelyne Pryor
Personality: Maddie is somewhat of a complex woman, and very little can be dealt with in terms of black and white with her. Her base personality is that of a reasonably sweet, generous, and attentive person, with a few mothering qualities towards those she cares about. She still possesses these traits, though they are very rarely seen. Only when alone with someone very dear to her does she exhibit these gentler qualities.
A rough life has changed many of her perspectives in regards to people, and she has adopted a much crueler approach to the general populace. If you get in her way she won’t hesitate to kill or injure, and she doesn’t tolerate disrespect. She cares only about her own goals and to that end almost nothing can stop her once she sets her mind to a goal. She hates most people with an undeserved passion, and has no qualms letting it show. She’s been made the world’s bitch too many times to have not learned the truths about people and what they really want.
Highly independent, no one tells Maddie what to do. Requests can be made, and will sometimes be considered, but ultimately refuses to allow anyone else to decide for her. Maddie is almost as strong-willed as she is independent; loving the thrill of doing the things she wants or agrees with. The idea of her being a part of a team in even the loosest interpretation of the word is amusing, though she will lend a hand to those she cares for if they request her aide. She is also rather manipulative, toying with people and playing games at her whim. She rarely cares for how someone will feel when they realize they’ve been nothing more than her plaything, instead simply enjoying the ability to do as she pleases.
She can be obsessive about something if it catches her interest, to the point of losing sleep and not eating. If it is a person she will follow and observe them until satisfied, and eventually interact depending on why she is interested. Unsolved problems will drive her to her wit’s end in an attempt to solve them and if she doesn’t her rage is suffered by anyone with the misfortune of being nearby. Objects that catch her eye are taken, be it with money or by force, and stored away safely with everything else. Her patience is extremely short, and waiting is not an option for her in any situation. One of her greatest flaws is probably her vengeful nature, having been treated poorly through much of her life she developed a strong desire to make the people responsible pay. Once she has been crossed she will go to any lengths to exact revenge for the slight. Little of what she says can be trusted, as she will lie about nearly anything that suites her. She doesn’t trust people, and as such finds no reason to give anyone a straight answer.
Surprise. It appears your devices have limits. And I don't.

History: After obtaining a sample of Jean Grey's DNA, Mr. Sinister created his own clone naming her Madelyne Pryor. He programmed her with false memories and the desire to love Scott Summers. When the Phoenix force died, a part of its consciousness was sent back to Earth and ended up in her body giving her life. Madelyne Pryor began her life in Alaska as a charter pilot for the grandparents of Scott Summers. She met Scott at a family reunion and the two began a relationship. The real reason Scott was so interested in her was because he believed her to be the reincarnation of his dead lover Jean Grey. When he confronted her about this, Madelyne became furious and punched him in the face, and became the Dark Phoenix. But this was a simple illusion cast by Mastermind since he was pissed at the X-Men. Eventually, Scott was able to get over Jean Grey and the two of them got married. He also quit active duty to pursue a normal life. It wasn't all sunshine and rainbows though. Their marriage became strained when Scott still couldn't get over his love for Jean Grey. When the real Jean returned, Scott abandoned his family to return to her and form X-Factor, leaving Madelyne clueless to why. After the birth of her child in the mansion's kitchen, Madelyne moved to a cabin back in Alaska to try and live a regular life again.
During his absence, Mr. Sinister sent his team the Marauders to kill her. She tried her best to defend herself using her latent telepathic powers, but ultimately the child was captured and she was left for dead after receiving several gunshot wounds. She was found and taken to the hospital and labeled a “Jane Doe” due to Sinister erasing all records of her and her child's existence. She awoke several months later from a coma only to be greeted by the same people that tried to kill her before. Thankfully this time the X-Men were there to stop them. Madelyne stayed with the X-Men since she couldn't find her child.
During a battle in Dallas, the X-man Forge required nine souls to defeat his enemy. She agreed to serve as the ninth along with the other eight X-Men. The group was transformed into pure energy, all this being captured on TV by newscasters. In her final moments, she was able to get a message off to her husband Scott, telling him to find their son. The team was resurrected by Roma, unknown to the world. They used this status as an advantage and began working underground with Madelyne serving as the tech specialist. She finally found out the reason that Scott left her after watching the news and seeing him together with Jean. Alone and angry, she began to have a relationship with Alex Summers. He too was lonely for he'd lost his love.
One day in her dreams, two entities named N'Astirh and S'ym came to her playing with her self doubt and tempting her with power. Feeling helpless and confused, she gave in to the darker side of her personality. She agreed to help open a link to Earth for them in exchange for the location on her child. As she grew more powerful adopting the name of Goblin Queen, neither the two entities nor Sinister could control her. She slowly began her descent into madness upon finding out that she was just a tool cloned from Jean Grey. She attempted to sacrifice her own child in order to open a permanent portal between Earth and Limbo. When the X-Men came to stop her, she did battle with Jean one-on-one. Releasing a psionic force, she trapped herself, the child, and Jean inside and was determined to destroy them all. Jean was able to resist thanks to the Phoenix force leaving the clone and returning to her, which resulted in Madelyne's death.
Alone, she floated in the Astral Plane, regaining her power, rebuilding her body from the energy there, inverted rela-tive law granting her the means. Until she noticed a little speck of red amidst the blue. Floating towards it, she dis-covered it was a flow of energy. The essence of a human, escaping into the Astral. It gave her a way back into the world. All she had to do was project herself out. Gathering the essence with her, locating all the lost bits of it, she first sent it through, forced it through, creating a discrete tear in the barrier between the Astral and the Material, and then followed it, right into a teenager's lap.

I could save you. But it's best that I don't.

Powers: Since Madelyne was cloned from Jean Grey's DNA, she was essentially another version of Jean, and possessed Jean's telekinetic and telepathic abilities.
Telekinesis: Madelyne’s telekinesis was massive enough that she could move, lift, and manipulate fairly large objects, channel her telekinetic powers to fire powerful, mental, concussive blasts, focus her psionic energy into a near-impenetrable force field, and levitate herself in order to fly at fairly high speeds. On a few occasions, she could make images in her mind become tangible.
Telepathy: Can read and manipulate the minds of others and even higher order animals within a vast radius. Her notable powers include:
• Telepathic Cloak: Can mask her presence from being detected by others. Her abilities can, at times, go undetected or be counteracted by, more powerful, telepaths depending on their level of skill in using their own psi abilities. She can lend these defenses to others around her as well.
• Psionic Shield: Ability to erect a psychic shield for protection of herself and of others minds.
• Telepathic Camouflage: Ability to mask herself, and other peoples' presence from those around her. Can telepathically disguise herself, making her appearance to those around her quite different (changing the appearance of clothing, as well as more involved disguising).
• Mind Control: Ability to control the minds of others upon mere concentration.
• Mind Possession: Ability to possess the mind of another, and use that beings body as her own.
• Mind Alteration: Ability to alter the minds of others by force of will, changing their personality partially or entirely.
• Telepathic Illusions: Ability to create realistic telepathic illusions and cause people to experience events which are not actually occurring.
• Mental Paralysis: Ability to induce temporary mental or physical paralysis.
• Mental Amnesia: Can erase any awareness of particular memories or cause total amnesia.
• Psionic Blasts: Can project psionic force bolts which have no physical effects but which can affect a victim's mind so as to cause the victim pain or unconsciousness and turning someone brain-dead.
• Mind Transferal: Able to transfer both her mind and powers into other host bodies if her own physical body could be somehow killed.
• Mental Detection: Can sense the presence of another superhuman mutant within a small but as yet undefined radius of himself by perceiving the distinctive mental radiations emitted by such a being.
• Induce Pain: Can also induce mental pain merely by touching the brow of her victim.
• Astral Projection: Can project her astral form from her body onto astral planes or the physical planes. In the physical plane, she can travel in astral form over vast distances. In the astral plane, she can mentally create psionic objects and manipulate the aspects of her environment. She can communicate with others astrally through her own will or through contact with the thoughts and memories of others.
o Astral Teleportation: Teleport over long distances by psychokinetically shunting herself in and out of the astral plane (she was also shown to be able to carry additional weight, such as another person, when she teleported, but her limits were never fully tested).
• Psionic Siphoning: able to siphon the psychic energies from other psionic mutants. She could then use the stolen psychic energy to boost her own powers or channel the energy into someone else to temporarily increase their psionic abilities.
Skills: Maddie is a highly trained pilot, has a natural affinity for computers and technology, and experience in childcare.

Role Play Sample: ”Pardon… You’ll have to deal with this regardless of what you want, but would you be so kind as to follow me for a moment?” Of course there wasn’t going to be any argument. She didn’t have to use her powers to make sure of that, at least not when she was dealing with a man. Long legs, well-endowed chest, curves in all the right places and the brazen confidence to not have everything covered under more layers of clothing than could possibly be comfortable? Ignore the material which clung to her body in the few sparse places she opted to cover which left little for the mind to try and conjure on its own of course. The only thing about her typical outfits which didn’t serve to put her body on display was the cape which swirled around her figure, the hood pushed back from her red hair and pooled at the back of her neck.
The man gave an eager nod and was right on her heels as she strolled away, casting a coy look over her shoulder to keep him chasing her heels. Once she had lured him out of the crowded streets where she had him more to herself, she stopped so suddenly he nearly collided with her. ”You said you work for the local News station, correct?” Her voice was sugary sweet, and the man nodded. His eyes were not, however, focused attentively on her face, but rather at the considerable cleavage showing at her chest. She lifted a hand and placed a single finger under his jaw, tilting his head up to lock her piercing green eyes on his own dull brown orbs. ”Excellent. Then you are going to help me make a special announcement tonight at six o’clock.”
”What do you mean? Announcement?” For the first time, his eyes actually lit up with intelligence, or some pale semblance of it, as her words drew his suspicion. ”I don’t decide who says what-“ His words were cut short, his voice stopping mid-sentence as a smile curled over Maddie’s lips and her mind took hold on his own. He was a simple man, not particularly bright nor was he of a strong will. It was almost painfully easy to simply remove any choice he might want to make and leave only her own in its place. ”Of course. I’ love to help you.”
”Wonderful…”
