The thought was rueful, though not sad.
When she reached him, she leaned her forearms on the guardrail easily, shaking back her hair from her face. She didn't look at him - her gaze stayed out in the ice rink, watching a couple practically fly across it. The ice usually reminded her of Bobby.
But she didn't want to think about him today.
"Cajun," she drawled softly, "What a lovely surprise seein' you here."[/blockquote][/quote]

Usually none, though if she absorbs from a mutant with physical mutations, she may gain these.
Uniform:
Rogue’s uniform is made out of a stretchy, flexible material. It is bulletproof and fireproof, and grants her basic protection from most forms of physical assault. The majority of it is a dark forest green in colour, although there are white markings in places. There is a thick white blaze down the center of the chest, dividing around her midriff. Here it turns into a thick circle of white around her body, just above her hips. Her gloves are long, going to about mid arm, and have bands of white around the wrist and the hem. In addition, she wears a hooded cloak with white edges.
Personality:
Rogue’s personality is easily labelled as that of your typical southern belle. She’s confident and forward with everybody, and is very affectionate to many people. She is normally very good natured, with a wicked sense of humour. She is a very spunky young woman, who will stand up for her beliefs, and who will never back down from a challenge.
Rogue has proven herself to be very brave in the face of most enemies. She is far from a coward, and is willing to stand up to anybody who threatens her or any of her comrades. She is fiercely protective of those close to her – in particular the other X-Men and the students. All too aware that she will probably never have children of her own, she is very warm towards the youngsters at the school, and is far more likely to let things slip than some of the other, stricter X-Men as a result.
Although Rogue has now found a team and friends within the X-Men, she sometimes feels lonely and jealous of the physical closeness that many of them clearly enjoy - she also feels that some of them do not trust her because of her Brotherhood roots.
A bad side of Rogue is, because of her powers, she can become reckless, sometimes believing that she is invincible and invulnerable to harm. Though there is no denying that Rogue is very powerful, she is far from unbeatable. She is also prone to dreadful mood swings at times, though this is not her fault, and comes from the consciousnesses she has absorbed over the years still being present in her head as echoes.

History:
The mutant known as Rogue was born in Caldecott County, Mississippi, as Anna Marie, to parents Owen and Priscilla. They lived in a hippy commune, and her mother disappeared when Anna Marie was very young. Following this, her maternal Aunt, Carrie, took over raising her. Carrie was an extremely harsh and strict woman, which caused Anna Marie to rebel and run away from home, leaving an unhappy life behind. Following this, she also took on the nickname ‘Rogue’.
At some point, the Brotherhood mutant, Mystique, and her partner, Destiny, found the young teenager and took her in. Both women, particularly Mystique, became mother-figures for Rogue, who needed some sort of guidance. Soon after this, her powers surfaced.
She kissed a boy whom she had grown close to, Cody Robbins, and drained his life energy, leaving him seriously comatose. Rogue was understandably shaken by this, and took to wearing concealing clothing to prevent accidentally touching anybody.
During her time with the two mutants, Rogue was being slowly manipulated by Mystique; the shape shifter turned all of Rogue’s bad feelings (sadness, loneliness etc…) into anger. After much deliberation, she recruited her foster daughter into the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.
During her stint in Mystique’s own brand of Brotherhood, Rogue came into contact with a one Carol Danvers, known to the mutant populace as Ms. Marvel. The girl ambushed Danvers on her front doorstep, meaning to deliberately absorb the others powers.
However, Ms. Marvel proved to be too strong, and the fight continued for longer than either of them expected it to. With her prolonged skin contact, Rogue absorbed Danvers powers and psyche, as she would normally, with one difference; the transfer was permanent.
Unable to comprehend this, and having the powerful Ms. Marvel’s persona now within her, Rogue was driven temporarily insane. She attempted to throw Carol Danvers off the Golden Gate Bridge to kill her (and lose her psyche). Without Rogue’s knowledge, Ms. Marvel was saved by Spider-Woman, although she was in a short coma.
Rogue used her newly stolen powers to battle against the Avengers, and later, with her foster mothers, against the X-Men Angel and Dazzler. Almost immediately, Rogue developed a grudge against Dazzler, for the other girl had everything that she did not - her powers were controllable, and she had a loving boyfriend in Angel. A boyfriend whom she could touch.
During the battle, Mystique wanted Rogue to use her powers against Angel, with the boy being the only then-public X-Man, to find the X-Men’s base of operations. Rogue was reluctant, as she did not want to absorb Angel’s wings along with his memories, and become a ‘freak’.
Eventually, Rogue came to the slow realisation that the more she used her power, the more difficult it was to retain her mental stability. When she touched somebody and absorbed their powers, she gained an ‘echo’ of them in her mind. Their strengths varied, but the Ms. Marvel psyche was so independently powerful that it would sometimes take control of her body.
Desperate for aid, Rogue turned to the other side, and sought an audience with Professor Charles Xavier, founder of the X-Men. She asked to enrol in the X-Men, and despite the teams protests, he allowed her entrance.
She was distant to the rest of the team for a good few months, distrusted by most, particularly Wolverine who had worked with Ms. Marvel as her partner. The tension between herself and the other X-Men was resolved when she saved Colossus’ life, risking her own in the process.
Soon after earning the X-Men’s respect, Carol Danvers took control of Rogue once again, going so far as to force her to wear Ms. Marvel’s previous uniform. The two persona’s fought within one body, although, with some outside help, the Rogue personality prevailed.
She was stripped of her powers for a short time, but soon regained them.
After events which involved the Ms Marvel persona being destroyed for good and a short romance with Magneto, Rogue returned to the X-Men after her powers had returned fully.
Here, they were split into two teams to make them more efficient - Rogue was placed in Cyclops’ team, along with the newly recruited Remy LeBeau. There was chemistry between them almost instantly, and the two started out on a romance. It was hard for both of them - Gambit because of his reluctance to share his past and deceitfulness, and Rogue because of her literal inability to get physically close to anybody.
Rogue took up leadership of the X-Men after Scott Summers’ alleged death, and held the role willingly and confidently until Storm’s return to the team, upon which Ororo retook control.
In the events that followed, Rogue gained assistance from the mutant known as Sage.
To prevent the Khan invasion of Madripoor, she requested that Sage use her powers to further Rogue’s own. After this, Rogue could recall every power she had ever absorbed before, and was, essentially invincible.
She was attacked by a mutant called Vargas, who claimed to be an entirely new species. He also said that he had discovered that Rogue would be the one to kill him in the future. In the middle of the Madripoor invasion, he attacked her when she was attempting to save Remy, and ended up impaling both she and Remy.
Rogue healed herself through recalling Wolverine’s powers.
They later fought again, and Rogue apparently fulfilled her destiny by defeating him with his own sword. With Jean Grey’s help, she pulled Remy back from the brink of death.
Both Rogue and Gambit came out of the battle relatively unscathed, but minus their powers. They left the X-Men to explore their relationship further, with Rogue’s powers no longer in the way of this.
They were visited by Sage and Bishop whilst living in a mutant-human town, who recruited them to help defeat Elias Bogan. Following this, Gambit’s powers were restored by Sage, and Rogue’s came back naturally.
Rogue later travelled to Japan with Sunfire, and, in the climax of this event, absorbed his powers permanently. She then returned to the Institute, where she found Gambit with a new student called Foxx.
Foxx was, in reality, Mystique who infiltrated the X-Men, displeased with her foster daughter’s chosen romance and hoping to break the two up.
Remy, however, stayed loyal to Rogue and rebuked ‘Foxx’s’ advances. Mystique tried a different tactic, morphing into Rogue to seduce him that way.
Rogue discovered Mystique’s presence in the Institute and was angry at both Gambit and her foster mother. Remy knew of Mystique being there but didn’t tell anybody, and this drove the couple a little further apart, as Mystique hoped.
After being discovered, Mystique asked to join the X-Men. To both Rogue and Remy’s dismay, the majority vote was against them and she was allowed in as a probationary member.
The Apocalypse events followed, in which Gambit became the Huntsman, Death. He attempted to kill Rogue, although he was being manipulated by Apocalypse at the time.
After Gambit returned to his normal self, he and Rogue left the X-Men once again.
She has since come back to them and rejoined the team, though she stays out of the public eye as much as she can, unwilling to catch anyone’s attention. She has not registered with the MRA, and the distrust nurtured in her by Mystique makes her cautious of the government’s intentions – after all, there isn’t a Human Registration Act, is there?
Classification: Gamma
Powers:
Psyche Absorption:
Through skin-to-skin contact, Rogue is able to absorb certain traits of the human psyche, not limited to powers. Through this, she can also absorb memories, personality traits, talents, physical attributes and various other aspects of a person. This ability does not only work on mutants, but on humans as well; she has been shown to absorb and use a human’s sharp reflexes and enhanced speed, despite them not being a mutant.
There has been no limit found to the amount of powers Rogue may absorb at any given moment. There is, however a time limit on how long Rogue has access to powers and memories - it is generally around sixty times the length of time she has had contact with the person. Therefore, if she touched somebody for a minute, she would have his or her memories and powers for up to an hour.
There have been cases where she has absorbed them permanently, such as when she absorbed Ms. Marvel’s characteristics. These powers have since been removed after Rogue fought Vargas, but there is nothing to stop something similar happening.
This ability is entirely involuntary and uncontrollable. Rogue is incapable of turning it off, meaning that, unless she wants to hurt somebody, she must keep her skin covered at all times in case of accidental contact. However, with any powers she has absorbed, Rogue gains the same amount of control over them as the person they originally belonged to.
Most people are rendered unconscious if Rogue’s power is activated on them, although a few cases (such as Juggernaut) have been able to resist this side effect. Robots are completely immune to Rogue’s powers, and cyborgs are all but the same, depending on how much organic matter they are compared to their machine parts. All organic creatures are susceptible.
Skills:
Rogue is an expert hand to hand combatant, able to hold her own in any battle – this is augmented by the fact that, when she takes her gloves off, her enemies must be extra careful. She is incredibly athletic and acrobatic thanks to years of training. She is also multilingual, able speak fluent French as well as English.
Weaponry: None.

For once, she was not out looking for runaway children and naughty boys. Rogue felt like she had to be grateful for that, even despite the cold. She shivered inside her greatcoat, the thick leather not doing much to keep out the cold. Though she loathed having to wear so many layers during the summer, she was quite pleased that donning gloves in this weather didn't get her looks as though she were a freak.
Said gloves, and the hands within their snug confines, were currently tucked deep into her pockets as she traversed Central Park. The snow crunched under her feet, giving the grass a Christmas feel that it had no right to when the holiday was more than a month passed. There had been an ice rink set up, as there was every year, and she had yet to check it out. She was kind of late to the party - it was closing soon, or so she had heard.
Some of the older students had been there already, gushing about gliding across the ice.
A quick breeze flipped her scarf across her face, and she frowned behind the thick, brightly coloured material, a gift from one of her fellow X-Men. She tucked the offending ends into the edges of her coat.
Rogue made a sound that was half huff and half sigh, her breath visible in the air when she did so, a small cloud of mist billowing before her eyes. She followed its trail in the air before it dissipated, raising her lids to scan the people at the ice rink. There were a few hanging around the edges with cameras, taking photographs and filming their loved ones. A couple of kids were struggling to stay upright on the glassy surface, clinging to the rail in an attempt to reassure themselves.
The sight made her smile slightly, though she didn't know why. Her eyebrow rose as she continued to observe the people there, and she alighted on a rather familiar overcoat. A coat, in fact, that was almost a twin of her own. It could only be one person.
She crunched her way across to him, unable to resist meeting him again. He had always had that sort of effect on her - even when he had tried to kill her as a Horseman, she hadn't been able to stay away.
Jus' goes to show how messed up Ah am.
The thought was rueful, though not sad.
When she reached him, she leaned her forearms on the guardrail easily, shaking back her hair from her face. She didn't look at him - her gaze stayed out in the ice rink, watching a couple practically fly across it. The ice usually reminded her of Bobby.
