Mutations:
Thermokinesis: Iceman can actually lower his body temperature from its normal 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit to absolute zero within seconds. He can control both his internal and external body temperature, affecting even the moisture in the air around him, causing it to freeze around his body giving him an “Ice Form.” In addition, because the air around him is so cold, Bobby can see the heat signatures given off by a body.
Cryokinesis: Bobby can freeze any amount of moisture in the air into ice, and form it into any shape he chooses. This ability does not have to be touch, i.e. he can form and shape ice with his mind alone. This ability allows him to not only cover his body with ice, but also actually become organic ice, giving him a translucent appearance. While in this form, Iceman is indestructible. He can reform any part of his body if it is damaged, even if he is in his flesh form when he is hurt. Using extra water molecules from the air around him, he often adds spikes to adorn his shoulders, elbows, fists, knees and head.
Hyrodkinesis: Iceman can use surrounding water molecules to augment himself, or travel through water almost instantaneously. He breaks himself down, joins the body of water, and reforms where he wants to go, able to absorb and utilize the water as he sees fit. Through these means, Iceman can grow to colossal sizes, his strength being proportional to his mass. He can also freeze all the water molecules within someone, or separate them and transport them over a distance as a form of teleportation. However, if he decides not to put them back together, he has utterly and effectively destroyed his opponent.
Classification: Alpha, potential Omega
Equipment: Jacket, X-Men Communicator, Weaponry Anything he can imagine and form from ice.
Uniform: Iceman doesn’t really need a uniform once he goes into his ice form; however, he normally wears form fitting black leather pants with the X-Logo appearing on his thighs. His belt buckle also sports the X-logo and he sometimes wears a leather jacket with another X-logo on the back.
Skills: Fluent in Spanish, Trained in Hand to Hand Combat, Certified Practicing Accountant, Ice Skating
Weaknesses: Self-conscious, Iceman is still unsure of himself in many aspects of his life as a Teacher, a lover, an X-Man, and his Mutant powers. His ability to perform and use his powers is directly related to his daily physical health and current mental state. Under normal conditions he can form ice for about 5 hours before becoming mentally exhausted. He’s not exactly creative and so this can often inhibit him from using his powers to their full potential although his fear of losing control may also be a factor.
---
Motivation, and Why: Iceman is a firm believer in Xavier's dream. He knows how lucky he is that Xavier and Scott found him. He remembers how he felt as a kid, not know what was going on with him. Frightened of his own powers and what they could do... what's happened with them in the past. His goal is to help as many young mutants as he can and protect the innocent from those that might want to harm them whether they be human or mutant.
Loyalty: X-Men
Physical Appearance: Brown eyes, Brown hair. Bobby stands at about 5’8” tall with an athletic build. He typically wears casual and sporty clothing and favors a leather jacket even though he does not really need it thanks to his powers.
History:
Childhood
Robert “Bobby” Drake was born in Long Island, New York to William and Madeline Drake. He lived a relatively normal life up until his early teens when he would randomly feel cold and start to shiver for no apparent reason. His powers first manifested themselves while Bobby was on a date with Judy Harmon. A local bully by the name of Rocky decided that Judy was going to be his and convinced his gang to attack the two. Bobby panicked and encased Rocky in ice and thus revealing his powers. After hearing what had happened and frightened at the prospect of a dangerous mutant in their town, the people of Fort Washing formed a mob. The local Sheriff finally stepped in and put Bobby in jail claiming that it was “for his own protection.”
It was this incident that caught Professor Charles Xavier’s attention and he sent Scott Summers to recruit the boy. Bobby refused, one thing led to another, and the two got into a short lived battle which ended with the arrival of Charles. He spoke with Bobby’s parents, explaining his intent and they agreed that it was in his best interest. Bobby finally agreed to attend the school thus becoming the second member of the X-Men.
X-Men
Bobby took on the name Iceman and helped the X-men through several battles while he continued to develop his own powers. He quickly befriended Hank McCoy and the two were often known as the clowns of the team; despite his generally upbeat attitude, however, Iceman was self-conscious about the fact that he was the youngest member of the team. He was one of the original X-Men to be captured by Krakoa and later quit the team.
College
Iceman moved to west coast and attended UCLA where he became a founding member of ‘The Champions’ which later dissolves. He then retires from life as a superhero and finishes his Accounting degree on the East coast. He then briefly joined the Defenders with Beast before beginning his career as an accountant.
X-Factor
Jean Grey was still alive! Thinking that the X-Men were no longer following Xavier’s dream, Iceman joins his former team-mates to form the X-Factor. Their intention was to seek out and aid mutants under the façade that they were hunting down mutants as menaces to society. The public assumed that they were humans hunting mutants when really they were training young mutants to use their powers.
Current Day
After the defeat of the Shadow King, Iceman and the other members of the X-Factor rejoined the X-Men. Bobby began teaching (although a little reluctantly) at the reopened school and became a member of Storm’s Gold Team…

Bobby sat in his chair with his feet propped up on his desk and crossed at the ankles. He drummed his fingers rhythmically on the wood and stared up at the clock sitting on the wall. The second hand slowly ticked away, moving past the eight and then—tick, tick, tick, tick, tick—past the nine. He continued to watch it move past the ten and then the eleven and waited with great anticipation for the second hand to reach the twelve. Tick, tick, tick, tick… It must have been his eyes playing tricks on him, but he could swear he saw the second hand move backwards on the face of the clock. He let out a sound of disgust and stared up at the ceiling.
He had been embarrassingly late to his first class and it didn’t help that his second class for the day happened two hours after the first. Bobby was not about to be tardy again and so he had chosen to remain in his class room and do a little bit of work, mainly some of the school’s accounting which he was also in charge of; but now it was three minutes to eleven and Bobby was eager to meet his twelfth grade class.
Finally he spotted his first student wander in. Bobby dropped his feet to the floor and sat up straight, “Hey, there, welcome to class!” Ok, that was a little too cheerful. He had to be serious, mature, like an adult. Wait, he was an adult, wasn't he? He had to be more like a teacher, but he didn't want to be that hard-ass everyone disliked. Bad enough he was teaching Math. He motioned to the chairs, "Have a seat, anyone will do."
